Mighty Rascal Artisan - Jet Black Palm
A Rascal model crafted from Black Palm, cross-cut stabilised wood. This is the Artisan version, featuring a pocket clip and three sterling silver accent rings placed at the section, cap finial, and barrel finial.
The barrel is made from Black Palm and fully lined with acrylic for long-term stability. The cap is crafted from black acrylic, with two-tone tortoiseshell cellulose acetate details at the cap finial and section to complement the natural tones within the wood. The Artisan is the most intricate of the Rascal styles, designed for those who appreciate craftsmanship in every element.

Model Description:
The Rascal is a shorter, stockier pen compared to a typical length pen, measuring around 132mm (5.2 inches) closed and 120mm (4.75 inches) open. Both the cap and barrel taper towards their ends, creating a comfortable and well-balanced profile.
The barrel of this pen is crafted from cross-cut stabilised Black Palm and is fully lined with acrylic. This provides additional structural integrity, allows the threaded components to be precisely machined, and helps prevent issues such as nib dry-out or complications in the unlikely event of ink leakage.
Stabilised wood is impregnated with resin under vacuum, increasing its strength and durability while still retaining the character and feel of natural wood.
This pen undertakes a two-stage finishing process. The wood is sealed with melamine, a hard-wearing, waterproof lacquer, and then finished with hard wax to produce a natural satin sheen. This approach prioritises tactility and authenticity over high-gloss uniformity, allowing the organic character and natural variation of the wood to remain visible.
In contrast, the acrylic cap, section, and cellulose acetate finials are hand-polished to a high gloss, creating a deliberate visual and tactile contrast between natural material and refined surface.
Each pen is individually handcrafted, so small variations in measurements and grain pattern are natural, making every Rascal one of a kind.
